Melody T. Knox accepted the Lord as her personal Savior when she was nine years old. As a young child, a love for missions and missionaries was instilled in Melody’s heart. A native of Baltimore, Melody has been married to David Knox for 32 years. She is the mother to a retired U.S. Marine, Justin and a daughter, Jenna. She is “Mimi” to Treyton, Brenton & Kadyn.
Through the joys and challenges of life, Melody and her family have continually experienced God’s faithfulness and His provision for them on a daily basis.
Melody had been a member of Temple Baptist Church since 2009, where the congregation has recently merged with a change plant, Freedom, Windsor Mill. We recently celebrated a two-year anniversary of the churches merging.
Melody is presently the Women on Mission (WMU) Executive Director and the Church Strengthening Consultant for Women’s Ministry Consultant for the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware on a contractual basis. In the role as Women’s Ministry consultant for Maryland/Delaware, she assists in setting up holistic women’s ministry that will encourage women to lead lives that are pleasing and totally yielded to the Lord. As the WMU Executive Director, she encourages WMU groups to involve every member of the church in missions. This involves educating, giving, and encouraging members to become involved in short/long term mission trips. In other words, making missions a lifestyle.
Melody has a passion for seeing adolescent, young adults and mature women transformed by the Gospel of Jesus of Christ. Additionally, she is committed to seeing them empowered by Him to the extent every woman she encounters leaves a Godly legacy.
Charlotte M. Wood, PhD, MBA, MSN, RN is a Full Professor at Coppin State University, College of Health Professions, Helene Fuld School of Nursing. She received her BSN (1982) from Delaware State University, her MSN/MBA from Johns Hopkins University (2003) and completed her PhD from Capella University (2014).
She has practiced nursing in a variety of settings, including: The infamous R A Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland in Baltimore; emergency first aid for the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles, University of Maryland Mid-town Campus, St. Agnes Hospital, and in the private sector as a National Director for Nursing with Nationwide Better Health.
She is currently the President of the Maryland Nurses Association (MNA, 2019-2021), and the President of the Faculty Senate (2017-2020) at Coppin State University. She has just received the MNA 2020 Outstanding Leadership Award and the 2020 University System of Maryland Board of Regents Faculty Excellence Award for Public Service. She is currently working with several communities to address COVID-19. Dr. Charlotte M. Wood has been instrumental in educating and promoting the professional needs of nurses through her work with her National and State Senators and representatives. On Oct. 2, 2020, she received the Maryland Nurses Association 2020 Outstanding Leadership Award.
Dr. Charlotte M. Wood is a member of Colonial Baptist Church and continues to be a part of the Health and Wellness and Women’s Ministry.
Minister Chanel Abrams is a Wife, Mother and Author. Chanel has been in Ministry for over 15 years, serving in various capacities. She was licensed in November of 2015 by Pastor Tyrone P. Jones IV and now serves as a Minister at First Baptist Church of Guilford. She currently works as the Makeup Artist and Hairstylist for the Christian Broadcast Network. (CBN) She never received any formal training in Makeup Artistry. She is self-taught, with hands The Lord has blessed her with. Chanel received her AA degree in Christian Counseling from United Christian Ministries International. One of her greatest joys is seeing people have an “Ah-ha” moment. Whether they finally receive understanding from Scripture, they really realize that God loves them just the way they are, or they get the mirror to see what her hands have created with her makeup and hair skills. Humor is a huge part of her life also. She loves to laugh and make people laugh. On any given day, you will find her reciting lines from a range of comedic television sitcoms or movies.
This year Minister Abrams wrote her first book that discusses how to be free from Anxiety. Anxiety is something that many struggle with, but not many talk about it. Her motto is found in Matthew 19:26 “with God all things are possible.”
